Dan Dunn, PhD

Dan Dunn, PhD, is a senior vice president of business solutions at OptumInsight. He is responsible for the design and development of the company’s breakthrough predictive modeling and information tools, including Impact and Symmetry suite of products.

Before joining OptumInsight, Dan was an economist at the Harvard University School of Public Health and technical director on a project developing physician payment systems for Medicare. More recently, he assisted The National Committee for Quality Assurance in developing the new Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), a tool used by more than 90 percent of America’s health plans to measure care and service. Dan is a regular presenter at academic and professional conferences in the areas of risk and predictive modeling. He has also published more than 30 articles on a range of topics in health services research and holds a PhD in economics from the University of New Hampshire.
